(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The head of the National Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the importance of the role and contribution of Indonesia in the reconstruction of Iraq.
A statement of the coalition presidency received the agency {Euphrates News} copy of it that Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, "received in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, Ambassador of Indonesia Panabang Antaresco with Indonesian Consul Mohammed Arif Ramadan."
The two sides discussed "the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq and the region, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries."
"The Republic of Indonesia should play a role in the reconstruction of the liberated cities and the cities of the liberators," he said.
He stressed that "Iraq is ahead of an important electoral maturity, which moves it from the stage of building democracy to consolidate it and build a strong state that serves all its citizens without discrimination between them."
