    , the United States granted, asylum Nalfr Rahmani, the first Afghan woman to lead aplane, and has become a "symbol" for the advancement of women in Afghanistanduring the US war in her country. 

    In 2016, Nilufer Rahmani completed a 15-month training course with the US Air Force and announced that she did not want to return home for fear of her safety, on the grounds that she had received death threats. 

    "I am really happy and grateful to all those who worked to achieve this," Rahmani said after receiving asylum. "All I want now is to return to my dream of flying."
    Rahmani was 18 when she joined the Afghan army, hoping to realize her dream of becoming a pilot. 

    "What she said in the United States is irresponsible and surprising should have been a role model for other young Afghans, she has betrayed her country," she said. .
