Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi said in a press statement that the ministry opened the northern isolation station in the Zubayr oil field in the province of Basra with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, noting that the station will contribute effectively to support the production plans of the field and improve the specifications of oil extracted, as well as achieving high flow in the process Production, processing, storage and export.
He added that the project carried out by Samsunk includes four isolated banks, as well as oil treatment systems, as well as four water injection pumps with a total capacity of 450 thousand barrels at a cost of 894 million dollars, noting that the plant was established with specifications and modern technology in the oil industry.
Al-Allaibi said that the ministry is keen to develop the necessary plans for the implementation of development programs for oil fields in cooperation with international companies to increase and sustain production in accordance with plans and programs prepared to achieve common objectives, including the Zubayr oil field, which currently produces 450 thousand barrels per day, stressing that the project is one of the largest projects Implemented by the Zubair operating body since its establishment.
A consortium of Italian companies ENI, Kokaz and Occidental Petroleum won the development of the Zubayr oil field in Basra, which has an average reserves of four billion barrels, which will raise the field's production from 195 thousand barrels per day to 1.2 million barrels per day during the six years Coming.
A second statement issued by the Ministry of Oil pointed out that investors interested in competing for the project of building the Kut refinery with a capacity of 100 thousand barrels per day until June 14 to submit bids according to approved technical specifications.
