    The governor of Basra, Asaad al-Eidani, for the receipt of the province's first batch of petrodollar dues for the current year, to be disbursed payments of this installment according to priorities starting this week.
    In a press statement on the sidelines of his meeting at the headquarters of the Journalists Syndicate in Basra, al-Eidani said that for the first time, Basra received the "real funds" for the first time, explaining that the priority of disbursement of these amounts is to secure the dues of workers in the 
    field of cleaning, (Referring to staff contracts), as well as funding for stalled projects, and all contractors were informed of the return 
    to work.
    He explained that he personally follows the completion of financial assets in the accounts section of the province to spend the money during this week, noting that the central instructions contained in that financial payment, it is pointed out that in the event of disbursement of funds (complete zero) will be launched a second payment, likely to be after Eid Al-Mushriq Al-Mubarak to spend the dues of the previous contractors incurred by the province from 2011 until 2018 by 75 billion dinars, and the Ministry of Finance will release the insurance of previous contractors up to 63 billion dinars.  
    On the other hand, he pointed out that the water file is a federal file, and the central government is negotiating with both Turkey and Iran to secure sufficient water for the country, pointing out that Basra has strategic projects in the water sector to confront salinity, including the desalination project, The Council of Ministers is working on it through a government committee that includes the Ministry of Oil, Municipalities, Water Resources and the Governorate of Basrah. There is also a study from the German company Camier in this regard, in addition to other international companies interested in the project of thermal plant that produces water and electricity in Faw district. Project may not Its implementation sank for about 3 years. 
    At the end of his speech, al-Eidani promised to replace any director of a department in the province to prove his lack of performance and install an alternative proxy until the choice of permanent alternative through the vote of the provincial council, which has full powers in

    The local government in Basra, on Friday, that the Ministry of Finance disbursed to the province 97 billion dinars as part of its budget for the current year, confirming that the proportion of these amounts were allocated to complete the implementation of service projects suspended.

    The governor said Asad al-Eidani said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The Ministry of Finance launched the first batch of funds of Basra as part of the allocations (petrodollar), where the disbursement 97 billion dinars," noting that "these amounts were paid three months late for thousands of staff in the Diwan The province will be working in the form of contracts, and will be over the next week to pay the salaries of workers according to the system of daily wages in the districts and districts, and will be completed the implementation of some service projects stalled, and we informed the contractors to return to work and completion

    He pointed out that "the electricity sector has priority in the implementation of projects, and from next month will see this vital sector improved." He added that "Basra is expected to get a second payment of its funds after the completion of the first batch." 

    It is noteworthy that Basra did not get the bulk of their financial allocations during the past three years, and as a result, the province did not witness the implementation of new vital projects, and stopped the implementation of dozens of projects before completion, which led to deterioration of services doubled the suffering of citizens taking into account that the most projects that Implemented before 2014 was not the level of ambition, and some of them failed, and was marred by waste in public money because of corruption and poor planning and inefficiency of some of the executing companies.
