The MP for the province of Basra, Faleh al-Khazali, the federal government is unfair with Basra and it did not receive one dinar of the budget of 2017.
"The federal government is unfair with the province of Basra," Khazali said in a press statement on Tuesday. "The budgets for the last three years are written on paper only and we have made great efforts with the government, but we only met promises that are not true, .
"The rights of [petrodollars] lie a large victim of oil-producing provinces," he said.
He pointed out that "we agreed as deputies all for the province of Basra with the Finance Committee and the Prime Minister to give the treasury bonds for the rights of the provinces of oil producing for 2017, but the government challenged the budget."
