Israel's most important demands on the Iranian presence in Syria

on the impact of talks conducted by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Israelyesterday, Israeli sources revealed the most important demands that Tel Aviv insists on the issue of the Iranian presence in Syria .

"The Times of Israel" quoted a senior Israeli official after meeting Lavrov and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem that Tel Aviv asked Moscow to ensure a number of conditions, which would deprive Iran of a military foothold in Syria
    One of these demands: the

removal of all long-range missiles from Syria and the closure of all factories that manufacture precision rockets.

Ensure that all air defense systems that protect the above mentioned weapons are removed from Syria.

The closure of border crossings between Syria and Lebanon , and between Syria and Iraq, to prevent the smuggling of Iranian weapons.

The Israeli official claimed that Russia was "committed" to the establishment of a security belt about 100 kilometers from the northern Israeli border, adding that his country is satisfied with it "as a first step", but will continue to work to prevent "Iranian rooting" anywhere else in Syria.

According to the official, "as long as Iranian forces have the ability to fire long-range missiles at Israeli targets, even if they are outside the buffer zone, the Israeli Air Force will not stop working to protect Israeli citizens"

He added that even Tehran's presumed acceptance of a 100-km zone free of "Iranian forces or militias that support it" is insufficient for Israel, saying that "Iran wants to turn Syria into another Lebanon, and we intend to prevent it."

The source added that the Israeli side gave Lavrov and the Russian delegation "very detailed information" on this subject.

Earlier, the agency "Reuters" an unnamed Israeli official that "Israel rejected a Russian offer to keep Iranian forces 100 kilometers from the border of the cease-fire in the Syrian Golan."
