The Twilight Telegraph has published a story about Russia massively mobilizing its battleships and warships in the Mediterranean to prepare for the latest attack on the site of armed dissidents in Idlib, northern Syria.
Russia has mobilized at least 10 warships and submarines in the Middle East, the largest military buildup of Russian forces since the start of Russian military intervention in Syria in 2015.
The Russian naval buildup is not only aimed at supporting Assad's forces in its offensive against Idlib by bombing the exhibition sites from both the sea and the air, but also to prevent US military intervention if Assad uses chemical weapons in the attack.
John Bolton, the US national security adviser, warned last week that his country would respond strongly to any new use of the Assad regime for chemical weapons. But days later, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had evidence that the opposition forces in Idlib had chemical weapons and planned to use them.
The newspaper added that Moscow warns the West that the Syrian opposition will try to use chemical weapons in Idlib and blame the Assad regime to push the West to attack him and launched reprisals.
