Al-Hamdi said that the amendment of the rules of procedure of the parliament aims to give parliamentary deputies and committees greater powers in their oversight role, indicating that the parliamentary committees will witness a greater division than before with the aim of imposing greater control on ministries and bodies.
"The House of Representatives plays a supervisory role and is concerned with the preparation of laws, one of which is that the parliamentary committees do not meet the ambition of direct supervision of the ministries and need to be amended, added or deleted," Hamidi said in a statement.
She added that "the MP must have a greater authority in the control of some parties, especially financial supervision, banks and the Ministry of Finance," pointing out that "a lot of legal material in the rules of procedure of the parliament does not meet the ambition of the MP to perform its oversight and legislative role as the amendment of this system adds Greater flexibility for the work of the MP and gives him greater powers. "
