{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Council of Ministers, one of its previous resolutions on the protection of reinforcing iron product from 16 mm to 32 mm, after the approval of the recommendation of the competent authority in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / Department of Development and Industrial Organization.
A statement by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers received the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it, "the Council of Ministers decided to impose an additional customs fee of 10% to become 20% of the value of the product of reinforcing steel from 16 mm to 32 mm imported to Iraq from countries and ports all of the customs item {73021000}, for four years without reduction, and control the local market during the period of application of additional customs fees.
He explained that "the decision ensures that the General Authority for Customs apply the additional customs fee for the product and notify the Department of Industrial Organization periodically about the amount of Iraq's imports from it, as well as the value of additional customs duties that are levied on the importer of the foreign product and the value of the importer and countries of export and importers.
He added that "the decision of the Council of Ministers in which the Ministry of Industry and Minerals take into account the amount of increase in imports compared to the previous three years to find out the existence of an unjustified increase, and to indicate the ability of the complainant to fill the need of the market in such a way that ensures not to inflate prices."
He pointed out that "the ministry also determine the importance of protection required for the national economy, and the control of the control of the effects of the imposition of additional customs protection on the imported product."
