Parliamentary meeting next week to study amendments to the provincial elections law

The House of Representatives unveiled on Friday the date of the meeting of the legal committees and the parliamentary regions to study the amendments to the law of provincial elections.
A member of the Legal Committee, MP Salim Hamza said in a press statement, "The Committee will meet, next week, with the Committee of the Parliamentary Territories to study the observations on the amendment of the law of the provincial councils."
Hamza added that "the Electoral Commission is waiting for an amendment to the law in order to confirm the date of local elections in November."
The House of Representatives has ended, Thursday, March 28, 2019, the first reading of the proposed law of the first amendment to the law of provincial elections.
The Presidency of Parliament has announced, on 31 January last, that the Electoral Commission set November 16 next date for the provincial elections, while calling for the government to prepare the necessary procedures for it.
