(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi discussed on Tuesday a joint action plan to establish the relationship between Iraq and its brothers during a meeting with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and his accompanying delegation.
"During the meeting, they reviewed the prospects for joint cooperation between Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to serve the interests of the brotherly peoples in the area of stability and development," the media office of Halaboussi said in a statement received by Al-Furat News.
The meeting also discussed "finding a joint work plan to establish the relationship between Iraq and its brothers and signing a memorandum of cooperation with the GCC countries."
Al-Halbusi stressed "Iraq's keenness to develop the relationship and develop it with all the Gulf countries and built on the basis of mutual respect and common interests."
"For his part, praised Zayani efforts of the Presidency of the House of Representatives in the success of the Baghdad Summit of parliaments of neighboring countries of Iraq," noting that "the need for continued cooperation in various fields; for the stability of the region." is over
