BAGHDAD: The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Tokyo, Khalil Ismail Al-Moussawi, revealed Japan's funding of more than 28 strategic projects in Iraq since 2003.
This came during a seminar held by the Embassy of Iraq in Tokyo, on Sunday, on the history and civilization of Iraq and Japan-Iraq relations in cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the occasion of the eightieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iraq and Japan, in the presence of a number of diplomatic missions in Japan, and representatives of Japanese companies, Japan's former ambassador to Iraq Fumio Iwai, and a large number of Japanese interested in Iraqi civilization.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received (Euphrates News) a copy of it, "during which Moussaoui delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, wishing Japan-Iraq relations further progress and prosperity."
Al-Moussawi said that "the most important thing that distinguishes Iraq's relations with Japan from other developed countries is the great respect that the Japanese attach to Iraq, its history and civilizations, and the great contributions it has made to mankind. "More than 28 vital strategic projects have been funded by Japan since 2003 and this is an indication that the two countries are moving towards activating their economic partnership."
