    This coincided with cutting the Najaf airport road with burning tires in response to the Iraqi government's stalling in responding to the demands.
    Video clips also showed that protesters closed the doors of government departments in Najaf with iron welding.

    The deadline for the week had been granted to the Iraqi authorities by demonstrators in Nasiriyah, the center of the southern Dhi Qar Governorate, to implement the demands of the protest movement of choosing a new prime minister from outside the political parties, holding those involved in the killing of demonstrators accountable, and adopting a new law for early elections.
    Since setting this deadline, calls have continued to circulate in all governorates in response to them, while activists in Baghdad have launched a hashtag of "two million with Nasiriyah."
    In Tahrir Square, protests escalated yesterday, Saturday, and security forces intensified their numbers in central Baghdad and the gathering areas of the demonstrators.
    The country is in a state of paralysis since the resignation of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, and the political blocs are still unable to agree to find an alternative figure for the prime minister despite the expiration of the constitutional deadlines.
