, Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar, stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Egypt and increasing opportunities for development and joint work between the two countries, especially in the oil and gas sector.
Abdel Jabbar said during his meeting with the Egyptian ambassador in Baghdad, Ahmed Ismail, that the ministry welcomes the contribution of Egyptian oil companies in implementing infrastructure projects in the oil sector.
The Minister of Oil added that one of the goals of the government and the ministry is to work to strengthen relations with the countries of the world, the region and the neighboring countries, especially with the brothers in Egypt, and that this falls within their priorities, especially in the development and strategic projects that serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, referring to discussing the timetable for the implementation of the pipeline project. Basra - Aqaba pipeline "and the possibility of expanding it to Egypt to be an important addition and a new outlet for Iraqi oil exports to North Africa."
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador in Baghdad Ahmed Ismail praised the government and the ministry’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, appreciating the ministry’s role in working to expand and increase opportunities for cooperation with Egyptian companies.
