The industry announces reaching advanced stages in the project to rehabilitate the plants of the General Steel Company

The General Company for Iron and Steel, affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and
Minerals, announced, on Monday, the achievement of advanced achievement rates in the implementation of the project of rehabilitation of steel and rolling mill plants through continuous work and great and exceptional efforts of its cadres.
General Manager of the company, Abbas Hayal, said in a press release that "Al-Eqtisad News" reviewed, that the completion rates reached 95% of the civil works of the steel plant and the start of preparations for erecting equipment with a capacity of (623) thousand tons of liquid iron, indicating at the same time that more than 85% of the work of installing the equipment for the rolling mill with a capacity of (600) thousand tons.
He added that the Minister of Industry directed the supporting companies of the ministry (the General Company for Steel Industries, the General Company for Hydraulic Industries, the Ibn Majed Public Company and the General Company for Design and Implementation of Projects) to set up a comprehensive mechanism to complete the tasks entrusted to them as soon as possible.
He stressed the company's intention to complete the project after the availability of cash and operate it during the coming months, expressing his thanks and gratitude for the support and follow-up of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Industry and all officials in the ministry and its supporting companies in order to reach the desired goal of completing the project and operating the company's factories and re-moving the production wheel in them.
