Euphrates Economic News} The Ministry of Communications started providing fast internet lines with voice communication through participation in the FTTH (government) optical cable project.

"The company has already started selling internet lines, and the start was in the Al-Adl and Al-Hurriya neighborhoods in Baghdad," said Enas Chalabi, the official of relations and media at the Ministry's General Company for Communications and Informatics, stressing that "the experiment will be circulated among the rest of the regions, respectively, as part of the ministry's plan to advance the reality." She added that "the price of a minute for a call within the project’s network from one optical phone to another is five dinars, while the price from a optical phone to a mobile phone is 50 dinars," revealing "the allocation of special numbers to book lines through the customer service program."
It is noteworthy that the Ministry announced in November of last year that it is about to finish delivering millions of high-speed Internet lines to every home, in addition to almost free landlines.
