    Today, Wednesday, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, revealed the most important accomplishments of the 62nd Parliamentary Order Committee for investigations into the files and contracts of the Ministry of Electricity for the years between 2006-2020.
    Al-Kaabi said in a telephone interview with the neutral program on the Iraqi news screen, and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Parliamentary Order Committee 62 was formed by a decision of the House of Representatives, headed by the First Vice President, with the membership of the Energy, Integrity, Legal, Parliamentary Services Committees, the Financial Supervision Bureau and the Integrity Commission, and presented a report that included Accurate numbers related to the work of the Ministry of Electricity in a clear and transparent manner and with accurate information, which was supported by the Financial Supervision and the Integrity Commission.
    He added, "The Minister of Electricity asked the Council of Ministers and Representatives to discuss the committee's report, which revealed a waste of the Ministry of Electricity exceeding 8 billion dollars, and the matter did not stop at the waste, but there was an incorrect and ineffective method and strategy in managing the Iraqi energy file, which was supported by local reports. and international and energy specialists.
    He pointed out that "the investigations resulted in steps that included referring more than 56 files to the Integrity Commission based on the report of the Parliamentary Order Committee 62. Also, 36 files were investigated and scrutinized, which were referred to the investigating judge and the competent courts, and there are 5 cases in which the investigation is still ongoing."
    He pointed out that "the Minister of Electricity opened the corridors of the ministry until late at night before the Parliamentary Order Committee 62 and cooperated greatly, and without this cooperation, these files would not have seen the light."
