A member of the House of Representatives confirmed, on Tuesday, that the preoccupation with the elections disrupted the parliament’s sessions.
The deputy, Falah Al-Khafaji, said that "in every parliamentary session, the House of Representatives suspends its work approximately four months before the elections because most of its members are preoccupied with electoral propaganda."
He added, "The current parliamentary session was able to pass important laws that were resistant to previous sessions, including financial management, civil service, unified retirement, the Federal Court, Parliament elections, and the last was the Federal Budget Law," stressing that "the current parliamentary session succeeded in passing those important laws."
