    On Thursday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed the advisory body to re-examine the decision of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council regarding exempting foreign companies from financial obligations.

    The directive stipulated, according to the statement, that "the results of the study shall be submitted to the legal committee formed in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers based on the provisions of Article (6) of the Cabinet's bylaw, to re-submit the aforementioned draft law."  

    The statement pointed out that "the decision of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council in question was to exempt foreign companies executing development projects in Iraq from all fees and taxes accrued on them, due to the implementation of those projects, including income tax realized on the incomes of their non-Iraqi affiliates, to be applied The exemption stipulated in this resolution for new projects whose contracts are signed after the date of implementation of this resolution.
