{Local: Al Furat News} The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Nofal Abu Ragheef, discussed with the head of the Martyrs Foundation Abdul Ilah Al-Naeli, the coordination of work with ministries, institutions and active organizations, the prospects for the relationship between the ministry and the institution, and the mechanisms for its advancement.
A statement by Abu Ragheef's office said that the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of it that the two parties "stressed the priority of activating the institution's laws and instructions on all state institutions and departments as part of the duty to fulfill the righteous martyrs and the importance of fairness to their families and families whose dues are still pending since the fall of the Saddamist Baath until now."
The statement added, "The meeting brought up the biography of a number of Iraq's martyrs of scholarly stature and great personalities in different stages, and the martyrs of the two families in particular, as they were among the families of the martyrs who stood in the face of the tyrant and sacrificed their pure blood for the sake of their homeland."
For his part, Abu Ragheef stressed that "the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities is keen to give full importance to its affiliates and reviewers from the families of the martyrs, including creators, administrators, intellectuals, technicians and career cadres at various levels."
He pointed to "the importance of holding joint activities, events and conferences that enhance the celebration of Iraq's martyrs in the collective memory," praising "the institution's role in enhancing its human identity and its prominent presence on a permanent basis."
For his part, Al-Naeli affirmed, "The Foundation's permanent keenness to meet what is related to the families of the martyrs and the victims of the former regime as an essential part of the Foundation's duties and its role towards the martyrs, who did not fall the tyrant of Iraq had it not been for the blood they sacrificed for the sake of dignity, freedom and salvation."
