The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed, on Wednesday, to intensify the intelligence effort and continue the offensive approach to eliminating ISIS, after the organization broadcast a video of the killing of Adhamiya passport director Colonel Yasser Al-Jourani.
Major General Yahya Rasoul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said in a blog post, "May God have mercy on the martyr Colonel Yasser Al-Jourani, who was an example of good morals and an officer who loves his country."
"We will pursue the terrorists and reach them to achieve justice and avenge our righteous martyrs," he added.
He pointed out that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, directed the intensification of the intelligence effort and the continuation of the offensive approach to eliminating ISIS gangs."
On Wednesday, the people of Fallujah district mourned the director of Adhamiya passports, Colonel Yasser Al-Jourani, who was kidnapped by ISIS in Diyala, and yesterday he published a video of his killing.
On Tuesday, ISIS broadcast a video clip showing the beheading of the officer in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, Yasser Al-Jourani, Director of Adhamiya Passports, after he was kidnapped a few days ago in Diyala, in the east of the country.
The killing of Colonel Al-Jourani at the hands of ISIS comes after the group’s criminals kidnapped him, along with three of his friends, when they were on a wild fishing trip two weeks ago at Lake Hamrin in the vicinity of Khanaqin District, Diyala Governorate.
