Washington « Jerusalem Arab »: United States expressed serious concern since the U.S. invasion of Iraq that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003 that the country will be divided into three countries representing religious factions and ethnic feuding, but by the views of a large number of analysts it is not, there is no reason for this concern because Iraq already disintegration.
U.S. officials believe their part that the organization «Islamic state» Radical, who seized a swathe of territory west and central Iraq has contributed greatly to the division of the country into three parts, and the United States fears explicitly that leads to break Iraq to produce a failed state and allow groups the establishment of the Islamic extremist stronghold from which it is possible to export terrorism to other parts of the world.
According to Ryan Crocker, who served as U.S. ambassador to Iraq from 2007 to 2009, Iraq was divided already into what he called «Jihad Stan», which consists mostly of supporters of the organization «Islamic state» and the year and »Shiites Stan», which runs so far, the central government in Baghdad is composed of Shiites and finally «Kurdistan« which consists of semi-autonomous enclave in the north, which has oil wealth.
The draw Kurds attention to the new reality explicitly when he said Fuad Hussein, chief of staff of the Regional Government «Kurdistan», which is led by Massoud Barzani that «Iraq is not Iraq one day after« and that during a speech at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, during a visit to the United States recently.
The administration has now several challenges in Iraq, mainly determine how to reassemble Iraq to one state where the administration says that Iraq must remain united in order to regain control of the land controlled by extremist groups, and cynicism and irony, now, the comparison between the position of Joe Biden , who proposed the division of Iraq into three autonomous regions with a weak central government when he was a member of the Senate in the midst of sectarian violence and his position is now contrary to the original proposal when he served as vice president.
The U.S. administration believes that a stronger signal to counter the threat of partition will not come across a strong federal government is able to exert control and influence again on all parts of Iraq, but the real problem lies in the political circles in Baghdad is capable of forming a government of national unity.
He says analyst Jim Michel of «U. S. Eh. TODAY» said lawmakers in Iraq in front of them a long way before the formation of a broad government that would reduce tensions between Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites, especially with the presence of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who has been criticized widely in the country and the United States because he has contributed to the reduction of Sunni participation in governance and enabled the Shiite militias of targeting Sunnis.
Washington has been pressing to persuade the Kurds, who have sought a long time to set up an independent state to remain part of the central government, according to James Jeffrey, a former U.S. ambassador in Baghdad, it is without the Kurds, we will witness a struggle between Sunni Arabs and Iraqi state-backed Shi'ite Iran .
The Kurds seized new territory after the escape of the Iraqi army against attacks by al «Islamic state, an affirmation of the independence and tried to sell oil without the approval of Baghdad and announced plans to hold a referendum on independence».
Analysts believe that the Kurds, the best chance of survival if they were able to break away from the central government in Baghdad, where they enjoyed their areas of political stability in North and Stngzy state of oil reserves, rich and will protect one of the combat forces, the most disciplined in the region, the peshmerga, and took advantage of the Kurds latest crisis to expand their control over the city « Kirkuk «oil-rich.
A number Mark Kimmitt, a retired army general and an official in the U.S. State Department and has extensive experience in regard to Iraq that the Kurds have achieved on the ground, what they could not achieve through the political control of the sites were abandoned by Iraqi forces.
