    On Sunday, the Ministry of Agriculture identified four main pillars for the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to be held tomorrow and the day after in Baghdad, while it announced the reopening of the World Food Program office in the capital.
    The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mahdi Al-Qaisi, said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) scheduled to be held in Baghdad tomorrow and the day after tomorrow will be under the auspices of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and Minister of Agriculture Muhammad Al-Khafaji, with the participation of Iraq, a member of the organization and nearly 30 countries.
    He added, "The conference is held every two years under the name (Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa)," noting that "the 36th conference in Baghdad is a victory for Iraq's diplomacy and the importance of its role in the international organization." 
    He continued, "The main pillars of the conference and its importance will focus on 4 points that include exchanging experiences and discussing the climate change file, the water crisis with neighboring countries, and the lack of rain, in addition to future visions on how to address the file of food security, its abundance and its sustainability," noting, "Experiences The joint venture will unite for the purpose of upgrading the agricultural sector in Iraq and the regional countries in general." 
    He added, "The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reopened its office in Baghdad, which indicates that Iraq has weight in the organization." 
    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers explained, earlier, the most important files that will be discussed at the International Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which is scheduled to be held on February 7 and 8, while confirming the orientation to discuss 3 files related to Iraq.
    The spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majid, said, "The convening of the international conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Baghdad confirms the return of Iraq to its Arab, regional and international status, and the meeting will be within the 36th session of the organization and will be attended by more than 30 countries at a ministerial level, including Arab countries".
    He added, "The conference will last for two days and its importance in Iraq lies in that it will open files related to firstly food and secondly agriculture and the water file, and will open up prospects for cooperation and discussion with the riparian countries."
    He continued, "Within the plan set by the ministries of agriculture and water resources for the conference, there will be a discussion of the issue of Iraq's water quotas, and side discussions will be opened in this regard, especially with regard to the outstanding problems in the water file, and the Ministry of Resources has reached advanced stages to solve these problems with the Turkish side."
