Today, Friday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the signing of investment contracts to rehabilitate central markets in several governorates, while expressing its desire to enter foreign companies to convert them into modern malls.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, told the official agency, "The General Company for Central Markets performs a very large activity, and has central market projects, including Al-Mansour Central Market, which has achieved very large completion rates, in addition to the company's board of directors signing investment contracts for markets in multiple governorates. “.
He continued, "What the central markets are currently suffering from are the contracts that were signed for previous years with Emirati companies, as these companies did not put a single room in the project, and therefore the ministry was forced to cancel the contracts of 5 market projects in Baghdad."
He pointed out that "there are investment contracts with solid companies, and there are advertisements that exist. Any Iraqi investor can contact the company's management," expressing the ministry's desire for "the presence of foreign companies in order to turn those markets into modern malls."
