Earth News/ The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed today, Thursday, that the current parliamentary session is serious about industrial development events, while making it clear that one of the priorities of Parliament’s work is taking care of the industrial and agricultural sectors.
In a statement received by Earth News, the media office of Al-Zamili said that "Al-Zamili met with representatives of the Federation of Industries and a number of Iraqi industrialists, to discuss the problems facing the Iraqi industry and ways to overcome them, in the presence of a number of deputies and advisors."
Al-Zamili said, according to the statement, that "the Iraqi industry was completely, intentionally and systematically destroyed, after it was subjected to a series of calamities and neglect, the continuity of the policy of opening the doors for import, the lack of quality control and the failure to activate product and consumer protection laws," calling for "accelerating the activation of the Social Security Law by raising awareness of its importance." As the real guarantee of the worker.”
Al-Zamili instructed, according to the statement, to “form a working group from the House of Representatives to coordinate with the Council of Ministers, relevant authorities and specialized industrialists to solve problems and develop solutions for the development of the industrial sector,” noting that “the current parliamentary session is serious in bringing about local industrial development, capable of absorbing these large numbers of workers.” Unemployed youth, and stopping the waste of hard currency.”
The statement quoted Al-Zamili as confirming that “the two most important tributaries to the country are: industry and agriculture, not oil, which suffers from daily fluctuations and cannot be relied upon,” explaining that “all that the country needs are well-studied plans that are implemented in a scientific manner.”
Al-Zamili listened to “the problems that the private industrial sector suffers from, represented by energy, fuel quotas, and re-support for this sector,” pledging to “work to overcome these problems by approaching the relevant authorities or through legal legislation that includes provisions for supporting and advancing the private sector.”
