Today, Monday, the General Company for the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Supplies in Samarra announced a contract to establish factories for the production of cancerous preparations inside Iraq, while indicating the ability to cover the country's need for some medical preparations by 100%.
The director of the company, Khaled Mohie Alwan, said in a statement to the official agency, which was reviewed by Mawazine News, that "the general company has harnessed all its cadres to develop a comprehensive study of the special needs of the Ministry of Health and local markets, including lost products that can be produced through the company's factories," pointing out that " Among those important products, and through questionnaires conducted by the company’s cadres, it was found that there is an urgent and necessary need for cancerous preparations that were not previously produced inside the country.”
He added, "The company hastened, under the guidance of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, to establish new investment projects related to the transfer of modern technology, especially in preparations that are manufactured for the first time, the purpose of which is to meet the needs of the Ministry of Health and local markets," noting that "cancer drugs are manufactured according to standards and environment of their own and factories of a nature." He pointed out that "the company does not have the financial capacity to build factories for the production of cancer drugs, and accordingly it went towards investing through a single window and attracting investors," noting that "a partnership contract was signed with one of the Arab companies to establish factories for cancer preparations inside the country."
He continued, "These new factories will achieve a qualitative leap for the State Company for the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Supplies, in addition to modernizing its products and marketing them to the Ministry of Health," noting that "the company's general plan has kept pace with the development in the field of medicines in the world."
He pointed out that "the company concluded during the past year 10 contracts for the production of new products produced for the first time, as they will contribute to supporting the national economy, employing manpower and graduates, in addition to training employees affiliated with the company and developing their capabilities," explaining that "among these projects, which will be produced for the first time." Once it is penicillin with new concentrations and sterile preparations, in addition to a special industry for medical supplies, including surgical threads and asthma inhalers, and a factory for the production of special medical gases such as oxygen, petrous oxide and anesthetic gas, in addition to establishing a new printing press in the company.
And he added, "The company covers only 10% of the country's need for medicines, and its ambition is to raise this percentage to 40% or 50%," stressing that "the company is able to cover some products by 100%." Ended 29 / 92
