    Today, Thursday, the United Nations confirmed that the strategies of the poultry and tomato sector for sustainable development will revive Iraqi agriculture, while identifying three measures to solve the water problem.
    The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Irina Vojakova Solorano, said in a speech during the official launch ceremony of the poultry and tomato sector strategies for sustainable development in Iraq, according to the official news agency, "This project is very important and can give energy to farmers and the private sector to work They improve the quality and the important thing is to improve food products in Iraq," noting that "Iraqi agriculture will recover through this project carried out by the International Trade Center with our partners in the International Labor Organization and the International Organization for Migration."
    Solorano added, "We are very committed to our partner, the United Nations, and thanks to the European Union, which finances the programme, and we hope to continue cooperating and developing this important sector to provide the Iraqi markets with what they need."
    She pointed out that "time is not easy, and climate change and the water issue in Iraq require good and rational management and government support to develop water resources," adding: "Not only for the quality of water, but for providing it to farms, families and homes."
    And she continued: "Especially when it comes to agriculture, it needs the sun, soil and clean water, and it needs good industry that will process or package foodstuffs to be suitable for consumption in Iraqi society, whether in tomatoes or poultry."
    This morning, Thursday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the launch of strategies for the poultry and tomato sector for sustainable development in Iraq.
