Independent MP Salah Zaini confirmed, on Monday, that the statement of the United Nations Mission "UNAMI" today, regarding the political situation in Iraq, will be a strong motivation for forming a government.
In an exclusive interview with Mawazine News, Zinni said, "This interest on the part of UNAMI will motivate and generate a greater desire to resolve this file, and that there is a need to move in this context."
Zinni continued, "The file of the political agreement and the dialogue of all parties will be a political incentive, and there are confirmed indications that the file of forming a government will be resolved within a few days."
He pointed out, "The interest of the United Nations mission in the need to expedite the approval of the budget due to its necessity, and that life will stop if this year ends without its approval, noting that salaries will also be threatened."
And the United Nations mission called, earlier today, Monday, the active parties in Iraq for dialogue and to meet the needs of the people.
The mission stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, "The Iraqis went to the polls a year ago in the hope of drawing a new future for their country, and the elections were held with great difficulty, which came as a result of popular pressure through protests that swept across the country, in which several hundred young people were met. Iraqis died and thousands were injured," she said, noting that "this democratic practice was followed by divisive policies that generated general and bitter disappointment."
And she added, "Iraq does not have much time," noting that "the protracted crisis portends more instability and also threatens the livelihoods of citizens."
And she stressed, "The adoption of the 2023 budget before the end of the year is urgent," noting that "resolute efforts have been made in the past weeks and months for all actors to embark on a path towards political stability, but to no avail."
And she continued, "Now is the time for the political class to take responsibility and match words with deeds," stressing that "all actors must engage in dialogue without preconditions and collectively agree on the main results by making concessions that reaffirm their stated goal, which is to meet the needs of the Iraqi people." and the formation of a government with full and effective powers.
