The Federal Integrity Commission revealed the issuance of a four-year prison sentence against the director of a banking company, and a fine of nearly (3.5) billion dinars, as a result of illegal financial transactions.
A statement of integrity, which was received by Mawazine News, stated: It came from the investigation department of the authority, and while talking about the details of the case in which the authority investigated and referred it to the judiciary, it stated that “the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a judgment in attendance that stipulates imprisonment for four years and a fine A financial amount estimated at (2.14,000,000) two billion dinars and one million US dollars, against the director of a banking company.”
The statement continued, "The accused committed "financial transactions" resulting from a crime related to the money of the former head of the Baghdad Investment Commission, and purchased real estate for the accused and registered them in the name of his "accused, fugitive" wife.
He added, "The court, after reviewing the evidence obtained and the evidence in the case, and the investigative papers, concluded the negligence of the accused, and decided to convict him in accordance with the provisions of Article (36) of the Money Laundering Law." Ended 29/R77
