    Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the intention to block the ration cards for more than 5 million citizens outside the country, while indicating that it disburses ration items for everyone despite the lack of a database.

    The Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Sattar Al-Jabri, said, “The ministry does not have a solid and real database that can be adopted in state institutions,” noting that “there is a great intersection and overlap in powers, in addition to the absence of a database for citizens, which confused the work of institutions and ministries, including Ministry of Commerce".

    He added, "The ministry distributes a ration and a food basket to 40 million Iraqi citizens, but there are approximately 5 million Iraqi citizens who are outside the country, in addition to the dead and those covered by the blocking decision, which number in the millions, including owners of companies and those with high incomes, and therefore there is no database to access." To these names and withhold them," pointing out that "the Ministry of Commerce is forced to disburse the ration ration for everyone, due to the lack of a database."

    He continued, "The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Immigration were addressed to provide us with the names outside Iraq, but we have not been provided until this moment with real lists that can be adopted," explaining that "the lists that we received include only three names, and in Iraq there is a similarity with the three names that cannot be adopted."

    Al-Jabri stressed, "There is a major imbalance in the names of the deceased between the Ministries of Health and Commerce, as there is no network connection between state institutions," stressing "the need for a digital e-government, in order to automate information, that can be adopted after obtaining an integrated database, which will be a real breakthrough." to build the state.
