Baghdad / Obelisk: Forces within the "coordinating framework" launched their political and media campaign to remove the US forces from Iraq, and before that, Al-Kazemi announced in December 2021, the end of the combat missions of the international coalition forces.
And the campaign to expel the US forces began to escalate despite the decision to convert their tasks into training ones, after the rounds of strategic dialogue that began between Baghdad and Washington since 2020, and ended with the fourth round last year.
Armed factions carried out operations targeting American interests in Iraq throughout the Al-Kazemi era, and before that, but they gained relative calm after the formation of the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani.
However, parties in the coordination framework, according to the Obelisk's communication with its deputies, believe that the current government is aware of the impact of the escalation on the internal political and economic situation, and that it does not want the relationship with Washington to deteriorate.
It is possible that the framework's media, analysts, activists, and media advocates resort to a campaign against the American presence, far from the fact that the framework and the government do not want escalation.
And the leader in the framework, Mahmoud Al-Hayani, considered the talk about the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, “not true, and just a media talk.”
And the transfer of political researcher d. Jassim Al-Shammari, according to sources close to a major religious political entity, that preparations are underway for massive demonstrations to expel the American presence from Iraq, expecting a return to street wars and incursions.
At the end of last December, former US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced that Iraq needed the US presence in order to stabilize its security situation, which refutes the hypothesis of withdrawal.
Issam Hussein, who is interested in political and social affairs, says that the framework has two wings in dealing with the US administration, a political wing that concludes deals with the administration, and a military wing that moves its missiles according to the success rates of these deals.
In light of the security calm during the Sudanese era until now, it is not known whether it was a temporary truce decision, or a framework government decision to coexist permanently with the American presence in Iraq.
