Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein confirmed, on Thursday, his country's aspiration to obtain electricity through connection with the Saudi energy system or with the Gulf countries, calling on Saudi investment companies to work in Iraq.
Hussein said in a press conference held with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during the latter's visit to Baghdad, that this visit is important, and it comes at a time characterized by many challenges and sensitive circumstances, so it is important to hold dialogues and discussions about these challenges that concern the region in general. .

He added that the bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia have developed in various fields, and that there is full coordination with the Kingdom on oil policy, and on coordination within the framework of OPEC and OPEC Plus, indicating that there is intense cooperation on trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
The minister also said: We work together to reduce tensions in the region and solve problems through peace and dialogue.
He pointed out that he and his Saudi counterpart discussed investments between the two countries, adding that the Saudi side is ready to support Saudi companies to invest in the Iraqi economy, and on our part, we welcome Saudi companies and Saudi investment in Iraq.
Hussein stressed that Iraq is looking forward to providing it with electric power, whether through the Saudi network or the Gulf network, to fill the shortage in the country.
