    Kurdish political sources revealed that Erbil and the United States support the return of "Lahore Sheikh Genki" to the political front in Sulaymaniyah.

    The sources said, in a press interview, that Sheikh Genki received it from the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party in general. The

    sources added, “The United States of America, through the representative of the American President (Brett McGurk), demanded the return of Lahore Sheikh Genki to the political front in Sulaymaniyah And ending the rivalry with his cousin, Pavel Talabani.”

    Other sources confirmed that “the former President of the Republic and a prominent leader in the National Union (Barham Salih) joined Sheikh Genki, and they formed a (political alliance),” as a result of what the source called “failing Talabani and the leaders of the Union to Barham Saleh in not renewing his term as president of the republic.

    The sources indicated that "Saleh (who enjoys close relations with Iran) visited its capital, Tehran, and secretly met with the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Qaani, and briefed him on the developments taking place in Sulaymaniyah," which is the most prominent Kurdish ally of Tehran.

    Sheikh Genki announced his return to his work as the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, while the current president of the party, Pavel Talabani, remained silent and did not make any statement or statement, just as the leaders of the Patriotic Union did not declare this issue.

    On July 8, 2021, Sheikh Genki and his brothers were stripped of all security and administrative positions, after he was accused 

    of attempting to lead a party coup against his cousin and the current president of the Union, Pavel Talabani.

    The Erbil Asayish Court had issued its ruling, which stipulated that Sheikh Genki still holds the status of co-chair of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

    The leadership council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan voted to elect Pavel Talabani as the sole president of the party, and to end the co-chairmanship of the party.

    Sulaymaniyah, which is the main stronghold of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the second largest Kurdish party, is looking forward to developments in what may affect its security and social stability.[/rtl]
