revealed, on Sunday, the Ministry of Commerce, the details of the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Iranian committee, which started today in Baghdad.
The ministry said in a statement received by Mawazine News, "The work of the joint Iraqi-Iranian committee began this morning, Thursday, in its fifth session in Baghdad, which is chaired by the Iraqi side, Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, and from the Iranian side, the Minister of Economic and Financial Affairs, Ihsan Khandozi."
The statement quoted the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative Affairs, Sattar Al-Jabri, as saying, “The committee will hold its meetings over a period of two days to discuss a number of issues of common interest in various economic and commercial sectors, transportation, energy, water, financial, banking, and investment, and crystallizing them on the ground in a way that serves their common interests, according to the 6 technical committees that were formed between them.” Both sides are ministries and sectoral authorities in both countries.
The statement pointed out, "Al-Jabri stressed during the opening session the directions of the Iraqi government and the Iraqi vision to strengthen joint relations."
The Director General of Foreign Economic Relations and Chairman of the Trade Committee, Riyad Fakher Al-Hashemi, stated that "the committee will discuss aspects of trade cooperation and increase the volume of trade exchanges, in addition to cooperation in the field of quality control and pre-examination of goods, the establishment of industrial cities, cooperation in the field of agricultural quarantine, the exchange of delegations, and conducting visits and meetings between the two countries.”
And the statement continued, "The meetings will conclude their work by signing the minutes of the joint Iraqi-Iranian committee at its fifth session." Ended 29/N33
