The people of Al-Bayaa, Al-Sayyidiyah, Al-Dora, and the neighborhoods of Al-Shabab, Al-Salam, and Degla on the Karkh side renewed their discontent and complained about the great complacency and the weak accountability of the owners of private generators who violate the operating instructions by the local councils, and called on the government to remove this file from the Baghdad governorate.
Al-Sabah polled the opinions of the people in these areas, who confirmed that despite the significant improvement in the supply of national electricity over the past month, and its continuity almost around the clock, some of the generator owners imposed prices ranging between 20 and 25 thousand dinars per ampere.
They emphasized that there is great negligence in holding the violating generator owners accountable or making surprise visits to find out the wages they charge.
The people called on the government to remove this file from Baghdad governorate because of its inability to manage it, especially with the advent of the summer season, which could witness further increases in the price of the ampere in the event of fluctuations in the supply of national electricity. And as usual, the Baghdad governorate said in a press statement: that due to the improvement in the supply of electric power, it was decided that the ampere price for the month of April, for private and governmental generators, would be 5 thousand dinars for (normal) operation from (12) noon until (1) at night, and 7 thousand Dinars for night operation from (12) noon until six o'clock in the morning, and 10 thousand dinars for golden operation for a period of (24) hours alternating with the national electricity.
She explained that the officials of the administrative units have the authority to set the price of the ampere (reducing the price), in line with the supply of electric energy for the region, provided that it does not exceed the price that has been set.
