    Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani confirmed, on Monday, that the agreement between Erbil and Baghdad regarding the oil export file is a groundwork for approving the oil and gas law.[/size]
    [size=45]The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani received, on Monday, the chairman and members of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee in the House of Representatives,” noting that “this is part of a series of meetings that the Prime Minister holds with parliamentary committees in various sectors.” ; With the aim of coordination between the executive and legislative authorities, which contributes to the success of the government’s work towards achieving the goals of its government program and implementing its priorities.[/size]
    [size=45]He added, "The meeting witnessed an emphasis on developing the oil industry and regulating the export process, especially after the temporary agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq regarding the export of oil from the northern fields, which is considered a ground for approving the federal oil and gas law."[/size]
    [size=45]During the meeting, Al-Sudani referred to "the government's interest in the energy file, and its plans to develop the oil industry, which have been implemented on the ground by investing in associated gas and seeking to enter Iraq into the global gas markets."[/size]
    [size=45]He continued, "Investment in the petrochemical industry will play an influential role in the future of the country's economy, as well as the development of the oil extraction and production sectors," stressing "the continuous work to find promising investment opportunities in the oil sector, in a way that contributes to the development of revenues and achieving the interests of the country."[/size]
    [size=45]On the fourth of April, in the presence of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, Erbil and Baghdad signed an agreement to resume oil exports through the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).[/size]
