On Thursday, the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Nermin Maarouf, pledged the end of the crisis between Baghdad and Erbil by approving the oil and gas law and defining the powers and shares of all parties.
Maarouf said in a press interview seen by “Takadum”, that “the legislation of the oil and gas law and the region’s share in the 2023 budget is sufficient to resolve the differences between Baghdad and Erbil without the renewal of any future dispute.”
She added, "There are files that are still thorny between the two parties, especially the decisions of the Federal Court related to the unconstitutionality of oil and gas, as well as its recent decision on the illegality of sending 200 billion to the region."
She pointed out that "we hope during the ongoing negotiations that long-term strategic agreements will be reached between the center and the region," pointing out that "the resolution of differences depends to a large extent on the oil and gas file and the region's share in the federal budget."
