    [size=45]Yesterday, Saturday, the work of the Development Road Conference kicked off, while Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed that this project is a pillar of a sustainable non-oil economy, pointing out that its gate will be through the port of Faw, and he talked about the establishment of industrial cities that are the most recent in the world and the countries of the region.[/size]
    [size=45]Yesterday, Baghdad witnessed a meeting for the work of the Development Path Conference, in the presence of representatives of 10 countries, under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani said, during his speech at the opening of the Development Path Conference, that “the development path, with its work platforms, added value to national and local outputs, and economic levers, is an ambitious and deliberate plan to change reality towards a solid economic structure.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani added, “Talk has accumulated about economic diversification and confronting the effects of climate change. Today, we and you stand on the threshold of the key to confrontation, and all efforts that address these influences will pass through the path of development.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, "This project is a pillar of a sustainable non-oil economy, and a link that serves Iraq's neighbors and the region."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani continued, “The great port of Faw has come a long way towards completion, and it will be a gateway to this important economic movement. Urban cities will integrate with the port, next to which we will establish a smart industrial city that is the latest in the region and the world, and it will simulate the current and expected technological development for the next fifty years.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, to "settling multiple industries in those cities by investing local or imported primary resources, in order to meet the local and regional need for their products."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani continues, “Iraq will launch this promising project towards an economic partnership with you that will make our countries an exporter of modern industries and goods, and we will rely in all of this on multi-modal corridors, more than 1,200 km of railways, their joint interoperability, and highways.”[/size]
    [size=45]And he noted, "Railroads and highways will facilitate the process of transporting goods, and the jobs that these projects will create will be a positive imprint that will move the peoples of the region to a stage of integration, stability and facing challenges."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani stressed, "This government started from the actual needs of the Iraqi people, according to studied priorities, and based on data that addresses the roots of instability and stumbling."[/size]
    [size=45]And he stated, “The Development Road Conference and the steps it will take are in the path of our movement in terms of reform and economic advancement, and we have established this conference through constructive understandings with the leaders and leaders of our brotherly and friendly countries.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani called on those present to “mature these understandings, and in your capacity as officials, technicians, and specialists in the relevant sectors, you will undertake to develop a practical road map for moving into implementation and proceeding with achieving the desired goals.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani concluded by "proceeding with everything that serves our people, and increases the gates of communication with the geographical neighborhood and cultural extension, and everything that would attract global investments."[/size]
    [size=45]The representative of the World Bank spoke about Iraq's need to "invest more than $21 billion in the transport sector over the next five years," pointing out that "the path of development will increase interdependence between Iraq and the countries of the region."[/size]
    [size=45]He added, "The development path project will significantly reduce pollution emissions," stressing that "the World Bank is committed to supporting Iraq in modernizing infrastructure and creating job opportunities."[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, the Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Transport, Hamad Issa, said in his speech, "Qatar's participation in this conference came to know the nature of this project, the possibility of its implementation in the next stage, and what are its objectives."[/size]
    [size=45]Issa continued, "This project has a positive, economic, and sustainable resonance in the region," pointing out that "the Gulf Cooperation Council will study, in the next stage, the mechanism for benefiting from this project."[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Turkey's representative at the conference, Ali Reza Gunay, said, "Turkey is a major partner in the path of development, which is a win-win for all."[/size]
    [size=45]Gunay added, "The responsibility lies in removing barriers to trade between Iraq and Turkey," noting that "the path of development would increase interdependence between the countries of the region."[/size]
    [size=45]The representative of Syria, Zhiz Khuzaym, affirmed that "Damascus is supportive of this project and its participation in the conference to listen to proposals and visions about the development path project, due to its importance and vitality."[/size]
    [size=45]Khuzaym spoke about "Syria's keenness on integrating the tripartite railway link between it and Iraq and Iran, and the serious steps we are working on to rehabilitate its railways, and this integration is one of the major challenges within many major economic balances."[/size]
    [size=45]On a related note, Saudi Minister of Transport, Saleh Al-Jasser, said in a press conference, "The Kingdom is keen to strengthen joint relations with Iraq."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Jasser added, "The past two days witnessed the convening of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, with the participation of a number of ministers."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "Jumaima-Arar crossing witnessed an increase in the movement of goods and passengers," noting that "trade between the two countries reached more than one billion dollars during the past year."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Jasser added, "About 6,000 pilgrims passed through the Jamima-Arar crossing every day within weeks, and the crossing is ready to receive 70,000 pilgrims."[/size]
    [size=45]And the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport in Iran, Effendizadeh, said in press statements, "A lot of possibilities and opportunities exist in the issue of railway corridors, north-south, and east-west corridors for all countries in the region, such as Iran, the UAE, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Oman, which represents an opportunity in the field of freight transport."[/size]
    [size=45]Zadeh added, "The role of railways is very important, and this new project in Iraq will have an excellent role in transporting goods."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, "The big project between Iraq and Iran is to link the railways from Shalamcheh to Basra," stressing that "work on the detailed stage of this project will begin in the coming days."[/size]
    [size=45]Zadeh added, "Iran has a role in the field of transit and transportation of goods to Russia and Central Asian countries."[/size]
    [size=45]He looks forward to "joint work in new areas of cooperation, especially in transporting goods to Europe via Iran or Iraq."[/size]
    [size=45]Zadeh concluded, "This represents an excellent opportunity for all countries in the region to benefit from the development road project in transporting goods in general.[/size]
