The Wasit Investment Commission granted 8 investment licenses in the housing sector to establish more than five thousand housing units in the province.
The head of the authority, Durgham Ismail Al-Awadi, told Al-Sabah that the authority, in light of its endeavor to address the housing problem that the governorate suffers from and in implementation of the government program, granted 8 investment licenses to seven Iraqi companies and one Lebanese, to establish vertical and horizontal housing projects, at a total cost of about 674 billion dinars. He pointed out that six of these projects will be in the district of Kut, with one project in the district of Azizia and another in the district of Souira.
He explained that the aforementioned projects will provide more than five thousand housing units that will be built on more than 1,700 dunums, while work is underway to grant seven other permits to address the housing problem in various regions of the governorate.
Al-Awadi noted that the commission is working to re-work on two other projects, one in Zubaydiyah district and the other in Al-Numaniyah district, after the investment licenses were withdrawn due to investors' reluctance.
