Al-Sudani: Jordan is an arena complementary and integrated with the Iraqi economy

The Sudanese Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a, considered Jordan an arena complementary and integrated with the Iraqi economy, expressing Iraq's ambition to expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries, while the Jordanian Prime Minister, Bishr Hani Al-Khasawneh, described the Iraqi-Jordanian relations as renewed, stressing the importance of military coordination to combat terrorism.
"The Jordanian Prime Minister's visit to Baghdad confirms the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Jordan," Al-Sudani said, in a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, who arrived Monday evening in Baghdad on an official visit, pointing out that "the bilateral meetings were positive."
He added, "The Iraqi government stresses the importance of the policy of balance in the region," noting that "Iraq emphasizes raising the level of communication in the region."
The Prime Minister expressed his "support for the Iraqi and Jordanian private sectors," explaining that "during the meetings, pivotal projects, including the industrial city, were emphasized."
He pointed out that "Jordan is an arena complementary and integrated with the Iraqi economy, and we aspire to expand cooperation," and said, "We confirmed the increase in flights between Iraq and Jordan."
Al-Sudani revealed that "there are promising projects and proposals that will benefit Iraq, Jordan and Egypt, and they are under discussion," noting that "the competent agencies in Iraq and Jordan have been instructed to provide facilities for trade between the two countries."
He considered the apparent transgression in burning the Holy Qur’an "does not represent any value for freedom of expression," noting that it "constitutes hatred."
In turn, Jordanian Prime Minister Beshr Hani Al-Khasawneh said at the joint press conference: "Iraqi-Jordanian relations are renewed," stressing "the importance of military coordination to combat terrorism."
Al-Khasawneh added, "We suffer from drugs, and cooperation must be strengthened to confront this threat," noting that "we discussed the Iraqi needs for renewable energy."
"We discussed the tripartite mechanisms that bring us together with Iraq and Egypt," he said, noting that "the second phase of electrical interconnection with Iraq is proceeding rapidly."
He pointed out that "there are promising discoveries near the Iraqi-Jordanian border."
Earlier, yesterday, Monday, Jordanian Prime Minister Beshr Hani Al-Khasawneh arrived in the capital, Baghdad, and meetings of the joint Iraqi-Jordanian committee were held, headed by the prime ministers of the two countries.
