The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, Hishmatullah Fallah Beshah, called on Iranian President Hassan Rowhani to form a special working group to follow up the agreements concluded with Iraq during his recent visit to the country.
"This is an important visit, and in my opinion it should have taken place before that," he said.
"During the past year, we have achieved the greatest development in economic relations with Iraq," he said. "After a catastrophic disaster, much of the infrastructure in this country has been destroyed, and now Iraq is reconstructing it."
"Many of the countries that were supporting Da'ash and their hands were stained with the blood of the Iraqi people have now begun extensive activities in the economic fields in Iraq, while Iran's place is truly free in this arena," he said.
