{Economic: Al Furat News} A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mueen Al-Kazemi, explained today, Wednesday, the reason for the high dollar exchange rates.
Al-Kazemi told {Euphrates News}, "The talk about the rise in exchange rates, and the hundred dollars reached 200,000 dinars, is unrealistic, because Iraq has a large reserve of foreign currency and is able to absorb the market and create a balance."
He added, "The current rise in exchange rates is caused by US sanctions imposed on 14 private banks in Iraq, as well as the routine followed in the currency selling window and the electronic platform."
It is noteworthy that the local markets are witnessing a significant rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, reaching 1550 dinars, or 155 thousand dinars per hundred dollars.
