    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Today, Tuesday (September 12, 2023), oil expert Kovind Sherwani revealed the main and most important reason for the increase in Iraq’s oil exports to America, while indicating that there is no preference on the part of Baghdad in dealing with countries except the Zionist entity.
    Sherwani said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the Russian-Ukrainian war led to Western sanctions on oil coming from Moscow, which created a gap in the oil market and changed the compass of meeting the needs of several countries, including America, towards countries that have additional export capacity, including Iraq, which enjoys Its oil has good characteristics in addition to its geographical dimension, and thus increased exports to Washington in the past months.”
    He added, "The level of exports to America varies from month to month, and there is no preference on the part of Baghdad in dealing with one country over another, because the issue relates to commercial markets, with the exception of countries that are prohibited from dealing with, including the Zionist entity."
    Sherwani pointed out, “All oil revenues go to the US Federal Bank in order to protect them from any lawsuits due to previous wars, and then they are transferred to the account of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance on a monthly basis.”
    The US Energy Information Administration announced on Sunday (September 10, 2023) that Iraq's oil exports to America amounted to more than 7 million barrels during the month of August.
    The administration said in its table, “Iraq exported 7,130 million barrels of crude oil to America during the month of August, with an average of 230,000 barrels per day, higher than the month of July, in which Iraqi oil exports to America amounted to 6,975 million barrels, with an average of 225,000.” barrels per day.
    She added, "Iraq exported crude oil to America during the first week of August at an average of 304,000 barrels per day, while it exported an average of 283,000 barrels per day in the second week, and exported an average of 232,000 barrels per day in the third week," noting that "exports in the fourth week amounted to An average of 100 thousand barrels per day.
    The US Energy Information Administration stated that "Iraq ranked sixth in its exports to America during the past month after Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Colombia and Ecuador, and ranked second in the Arab world after Saudi Arabia, whose exports to America last reached 11 million and 904 thousand barrels."
