The Singaporean Professor and Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore, Kishore Mahbubani, saw that the Corona virus crisis will contribute to changing the compass of the global economy from the United States of America to China, while he indicated that the United States will have two options for dealing With the crisis.
"Corona may cause a change in the compass of the global economy, and it will accelerate a shift that started some time ago, which is the transfer of the center of globalization from the United States of America to China," Mahbubani said in comments reported by the Foreign Policy magazine .
Mahboubani explained that “this is due to the Americans losing confidence in globalization and international trade, in exchange for its increase on the Chinese side for purely historical considerations, after the century of closure from 1842 to 1949, and its repercussions.” Noting that “the last decades of the economic boom that China knew, was the result of its openness to the world".
Mahbubani pointed out that “the United States will have two options. If its main goal is to ensure its continued domination in the world, then it will have to avoid any geopolitical conflict with China, whether on the political or economic level.” He added, “If its goal is to improve the living conditions of the American people , Whose social conditions have deteriorated, it will have to cooperate with China. ” Ended / 25
