The Parliamentary Finance [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] confirmed that limiting dealings to the dollar to finance the state’s needs puts the Iraqi economy in a dangerous situation.
The head of the committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, said, “Limiting dealing with the dollar to finance the state’s needs is a dangerous matter. It puts the country’s economy at the hands of a demon, and is even more dangerous than relying on oil to build the budget.”
Al-Atwani called on the government to take urgent action to end what he described as unilateral dealing, and to adopt other currencies to achieve economic stability and get rid of hegemony and blackmail.
