    The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced today, Tuesday, the completion of 50 percent of the work of the Baghdad-Kirkuk Road rehabilitation and maintenance project, while indicating the details of the work.
    A statement from the Ministry, received by Al-Iqtisad News, stated that, “Under the supervision of its Department of Roads and Bridges, half of the work of implementing the Baghdad-Kirkuk Road rehabilitation and maintenance project, with a length of (162) km within Kirkuk Governorate, has been completed, which will contribute to reducing traffic accidents and ensuring safety.” "Salky."
    He added, "The first section of the road is (Injana - Touz), with a length of (46) km for the new return corridor, and the works included scraping and uprooting the affected areas and treating them, covering them with three layers of asphalt, including the layer improved with polymer, and organizing the entrances and controls located on the road's path with a width ranging from From (8 - 16) PM, in addition to continuing the work of pouring the approaches to the Sarha Bridge, which is located on the road’s path, and widening and widening the road entrances in the areas of (Suleiman Bey, Amerli, and Tuz).”
    The statement added, "The works in the second section also included the Tuz-Kirkuk road (the outbound corridor) with a length of (58) km, where the work of covering the road with the improved polymer layer was initiated and the road was expanded to a length of (12) km, while the work of pouring the road with concrete was completed." Within the Touz District, which will include addressing the bridges located on the road’s path (Daquq and Quri al-Shay Bridges).” 
    He pointed out that "the work on the third section of the new Tuz-Kirkuk road (the return corridor), with a length of (58) km, includes clearing the entire section of the road and re-coating it with an improved polymer layer, and expanding the road to a length of (12) km and opening it to vehicle traffic."
