Observers: Baghdad has a pivotal role in resolving the region's crises

Political observers said that Iraq has gained the attention and confidence of the international community as well as the great powers and has become the basis of moderation in this strategic region of the world. They indicated that Iraq’s foreign policy is based on calming the situation and defusing crises, and that this role has been undertaken recently. .
The independent politician, Dr. Ayed Al-Hilali, told Al-Sabah: “The recent phone call that took place between Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the German Chancellor, which discussed bilateral relations between the two countries as well as developments on the Palestinian, regional and international arena, confirmed beyond doubt that Iraq now enjoys the attention and confidence of the international community as well as the great powers and has become the foundation of moderation in this strategic region of the world.”
He stated, “Recent experiences confirm beyond doubt that Iraq has entered as a fundamental partner that can be trusted internationally, and hence, in resolving crises, Iraq must have a role in it, by bringing viewpoints closer between the active parties, especially since it enjoys strong relations with all of those parties.” Pointing out that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani’s tour, which began in Tehran yesterday, is an effort to find a way out of the repercussions of the aggression on Gaza so that things do not go into an uncontrollable way.”
He added, "Failing to find ways out of the crises will harm everyone. The Prime Minister has affirmed Iraq's firm position on the Palestinian issue as well as other issues that cause destabilization in the Middle East region. Therefore, bringing the active parties to a dialogue table can produce solutions to all problems." In particular, resolving the Palestinian issue if there is the desire and seriousness of the major international powers with the participation of the countries of the region.”
On his part, political analyst Mujasha Al-Tamimi explained, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that “Iraq is a pivotal country in the region and depends on it to bring viewpoints closer and reach settlements, including the Gaza crisis, because Iraq strongly believes that Israel cannot and should not be allowed to be a platform on which Through which he launched horrific attacks against the Palestinians, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani believes that stopping the aggression against Gaza and a ceasefire are achievable.”
He added, "The moral and legal responsibility drives us to support the Palestinian people in Gaza in their defense against the current military aggression, and at the same time, to support the political future of the Palestinians. This means resuming the urgent work of giving a political horizon to the Palestinian people." Al-Tamimi stated, “Al-Sudani’s visit to Iran and his talks with the Iranian leadership focused on areas on which there could be agreement, as Al-Sudani spoke with US Secretary of State Antonio Blinken in Baghdad and the Iranian President in Tehran about the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire, or reaching a truce for humanitarian reasons that would allow the distribution of... Aid and facilitating the release of more hostages, and giving some relief to the residents of Gaza to catch their breath amid this violent bombing.”
He noted, "Al-Sudani's visit to Tehran aims to support the Palestinian issue, as the meeting with the Iranian president was mainly focused on the Palestinian issue, and Al-Sudani stated that we are working very hard to open humanitarian corridors, and that Iraq has sent convoys of aid to the people of Gaza." Meanwhile, the political analyst, Mohamed Salah, indicated in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that “the Gaza issue and the Zionist occupation occupied international public opinion, and there is a fear of the expansion of the war, and Iraq has a prominent role in reducing the crisis, and Iraq has a major role in alleviating the suffering.” "The Palestinian people and mobilizing regional intervention to relieve pressure on them."
