Shafaq News / The Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee confirmed on Monday that Iraqi women are suffering from aggravation of crises, especially those who practice the profession of agriculture and livestock raising, and while it indicated that the current conditions have caused a decline in their job opportunities, it announced a law to support women that includes granting agricultural lands and financial advances. To create their projects.

The head of the committee, Zozan Ali Saleh, told Shafaq News Agency, “Iraqi women are suffering due to the worsening crises that have befallen Iraq, including wars, climate changes, and drought, especially those who practice agriculture and livestock raising.”

She added, "The woman in the countryside is active and diligent. She practices agriculture and helps her husband in raising livestock, fishing, etc., and she is the head of the family and supports it in many families."

She stressed that "women can contribute and work hard to support the country's economy, and without women's participation and the use of their energies, there will be no economic or social development in any country."

Saleh explained, “The agricultural sector has been paralyzed in the recent period as a result of climate change, which has affected agricultural women in particular, and their job opportunities have declined.”

Accordingly, “there should be equality between the sexes in access to job opportunities in all fields, so that women can support their families,” according to Saleh.

She continued, "There must be cooperation between the executive authorities, and between the House of Representatives and governmental and non-governmental organizations, to support women economically, especially in small projects, and open the way for them to participate effectively in developing the country economically, and developing and developing society."

She stressed that "the Agriculture Committee supports women, especially those who practice the profession of agriculture and livestock raising, and there is a law that will provide good support for women, especially agricultural engineers and veterinarians."

She indicated, "There will be agricultural land that can be obtained from the government, in addition to granting financial advances to establish projects."

Saleh explained, “This law is called (granting the right to act for agricultural engineers and veterinary engineers), and it will be good for providing job opportunities for women, if it is exploited well and equally between the sexes.”
