    On Tuesday, Representative Youssef Al-Sabaawi expected that deciding on the formation of local governments in three governorates would falter.

    Al-Sabaawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “At the end of the week, the Election Commission will decide the final results of the December 18 elections by stating the full number of seats on the winning lists and the names of those who will represent their regions in the provincial councils.”
    He added, "Five factors influencing the birth of local governments in the governorates are the political alliance, the number of seats for each list, and the influence of Baghdad in drawing up the rules of understandings, but on the other hand, there are 3 governorates that may witness complications and delays in the birth of their governments, including Diyala and Kirkuk, all the way to Nineveh, as they need a road map that outlines features." Political consensus.
    He pointed out that "provincial councils have important powers through which they can impose oversight, restore change, and draw a road map for the renaissance of basic services in coordination with Baghdad."
    The Election Commission is expected to announce in the coming days the final results of the provincial council elections that took place on December 18.
