Today, Tuesday, Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki signed a contract to equip modern irrigation technologies with the Austrian company Bauer.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki, signed a contract with the authorized and financial director of Andreas Shutter Company, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Iraq, Andrea Nassi, the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mahdi Sahr Al-Jubouri, and the Technical Undersecretary, Mithaq Abdul Hussein.” And the legal advisor to the ministry, Raed Haddad, in addition to the general director of the legal department, Juma Khudair Issa, the exclusive agent of the Austrian company Bauer, Delsher Ezzedine, a number of general directors of the ministry, and various media outlets.”
In his speech on the occasion of signing the contract, the Minister of Agriculture stressed the importance of this contract as it represents a solution to the water shortage occurring in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and the move towards modern scientific methods in agriculture.
He pointed out that “this effort was carried out with the care and care of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and one of the priorities of the government’s work is to provide irrigation techniques of all types and fixed agricultural sprinklers, as well as all means that contribute to the optimal use of water.”
He continued, “The terms of the contract included the provision of modern irrigation systems, of the two types: the 60 dunum category, with a number of 3,090 and the 80 dunum category, with a number of 2,362 systems.”[/size]
